Tierra y Libertad
Youth at Tierra y Libertad spend a Saturday afternoon with jack hammer, shovel, and determination to dig out a 5 X 5 foot hole. Cement-hard caliche is removed and replaced with flood plain soil mixed with compost - a necessity when planting non-native fruit trees.
A pomegranate finds a new home and welcomed with a drink of harvested rain water, straw mulch and compost.
The backyard garden.
The front yard garden.
